We’d all love to be at a Gold Coast beach surfing the day away but the realities of being a tradie are that you have to work. That being said you might as well work like you mean it. Be present, be focused. Lastly, don’t work like you are running a sprint, work as though you are in a marathon, this will save your back when you are 55.
The very simple act of keeping a tight schedule, routine and trying your very best to stick to it will put you in the top 1% of tradies.
Define the problem. Determine its root causes. Find multiple solutions. Narrow down to the best one. Plan appropriately. Execute and oh… measure twice cut once.
Be firm but always fair. You will always make more money if you care about genuinely helping the customer and providing them with the best options. Always keep your word, be polite and know your product.
You gotta do what you gotta do, especially as a small business but safety should always be at the forefront of your mind.
If you want to charge $200+ an hour, look and present your business like you are worth $200+ per hour. Brush your teeth properly, don’t show your arse crack, clean your vehicle and feel confident in yourself.
